Flood Recovery Assistance
The City of Waterville will be accepting applications for Flood Recovery Grants, Building Material Grant, and deferred loans. Applications are available at City Hall, 200 Third Street South or web page at cityofwaterville.com. The Building Material Grant applicants that cannot reside in their home will be provided priority until September 11, 2024. All other Building Materials applications will be processed starting September 11, 2024. Please note that the Building Materials Grant was made available from the Lions Club and is open to all LeSueur County Residents.

City of Waterville Debris Removal
The City of Waterville will continue curbside pick up of Debris by appointment starting August 5, 2024.
No Tires, Appliance, Electronics or Hazardous waste will be accepted. The City has the right to refuse any debris that has not impacted by the flood.

FEMA is officially in our area working on Individual Assistance. They will start going door to door next week doing inspections, answering questions and initial signups. They do have identification, and will show you their ID if asked.
If they don't get to you next week or you miss them at your residence no need to worry, they plan to be in the area and visible for much longer than just next week.

City of Waterville Debris Removal
The City of Waterville will continue curbside pick up of Debris by appointment starting August 5, 2024.

The City of Waterville in conjunction with the Salvation Army, will be holding a recovery meeting and a BBQ Sunday, July 28.
Local residents are invited to this event which will feature a free meal and a chance for locals to update the city staff on how their recovery from the June floods are progressing. We will also be honoring Samaritan's Purse, Praying Pelican Mission, Lutheran Early Disaster Response Team, and United Methodist Committee on Relief. Please come and show your support for all they have done for the community.

Le Sueur County Assessors Damage Assessment Notification
Beginning Tuesday July 23, appraisers from Le Sueur County Assessor’s office will be visiting areas that were affected by the recent flooding to reassess damaged properties for possible property tax relief. This assessment is necessary to determine the new assessed value due to damage. This value is pertinent to determine the amount of property tax relief a property owner may be eligible for.

Cost of Increased Compliance and Mitigation Projects
All Residences that have sustained damages of 50% or greater of the assessed market value of your home may be eligible for Increased Cost of Compliance money under your flood insurance. The City water main has passed testing requirements. City water is now available. Please follow the following procedure prior to consuming any water.
- Disconnect any well source from the house if you back fed your property.
- Flush water through all faucets for 20 minutes to flush out any stagnant water.
- Drain water heater.

The City has been made aware of a Volunteer Organization ASEZ WAO that has been contacting residents. This Company has not been approved to provide services in Waterville. The City is working with the following vetted organizations: Samaritan's Purse, Lutheran Early Disaster Relief Team, Praying Pelican Mission and UMCOR. Please use extreme caution if any other organizations contact you. Please continue to Call City Hall at 507-362-8300 if other agencies contact you.

For the streets affected by the watermain break: Tetonka View Drive, Tetonka View Circle, Tetonka Blvd, Tetonka Bay Drive & Marian Street
Starting today around 1:00 p.m., there will be a watermain leak detection occurring. The water will be turned on and off several times. If you think water has been restored to your residence, DO NOT DRINK THE WATER. The water will be contaminated. The City of Waterville will inform you when the water will be safe to drink.

Samaritan’s Purse (833) 747-1234 is providing clean up assistance such as mucking out of homes. When they assist, the home will be contractor ready. Please contact them for assistance. Other vetted volunteer organizations that have been active in Waterville are Lutheran early disaster relief team, and Praying Pelican Mission. UMOR will be providing services on 7/20/24. Please call Samaritans purse directly, for assistance from our other partners please call City Hall at 507-362-8300.
Salvation Army Food Canteen is available from 11-3 today July 7, 2024. 1 Canteen will be located at the Waterville City Garage 117 Hoosac Street W. and the other Canteen will be roaming the town.

THE RED CROSS is setting up a DISASTER RESOURCE CENTER in Waterville for residents hardest hit by the flooding. This center is for residents who have either a destroyed home or homes with major flood damage. The Red Cross follows FEMA’s damage classifications which are shown below.
The Disaster Resource Center will be open to residents at the Villages of Waterville located at 205 1st St. N, Waterville, MN 56096 on Saturday July 6th from 3pm-7pm and again on Sunday July 7th from 3pm to 7pm.

Water Main Break Update
7/5/24
Tetonka Blvd, Marian Street, Tetonka Bay Drive and Tetonka View Circle
The watermain will not be able to be repaired or temporary water services installed until the water in the canal crossing does not breach the banks. A temporary treated water hydrant fill station with garden hose attachment has been set up at the Waterville Water Treatment Plant, 220 Hazen Street. A shower and bathroom facility have been opened at the Waterville Beach house, 617 Reed Street N. and will be open 24/7 until further notice.
Le Sueur County is actively working on providing resources and relief to those affected by the flood. In addition to our website (lesueurcounty.gov) and the Le Sueur County Emergency Management Facebook page(https://www.facebook.com/LSCEM), we will also be sending text messages to those who sign up for our text notification service. Please text LESUEURCOUNTYFLOOD to 91896 to opt in and sign up and receive updates on food relief.

Solid Waste Disposal
Le Sueur County and the City of Waterville will be accepting flood debris drop off south of the Waterville city garage beginning Saturday, June 29th. The following materials will be accepted: sandbags, appliances and electronics, demolition and solid waste (eg. sheetrock, carpet, wood, etc.), tires, and household waste (eg. chemicals). Please have materials separated before drop off. THIS IS FOR ALL COUNTY RESIDENTS.
If you have a refrigerator or freezer sitting on your property outside of your home, for safety reasons please REMOVE THE DOORS.
