City Departments

ADMINISTRATION

Waterville City Hall is the “heart” of all city operations. City Hall is located at 200 South Third Street South, just a block and a half south of Main Street. City Hall holds the office of the City Administrator-Clerk, City Bookkeeper, City Treasurer and City Council Chambers. City Hall staff are available to answer questions regarding ordinances, planning and zoning requirements, water and sewer billings, assessments, city agendas, and other various city information. 

The City Administrator-Clerk, is a council appointed position who serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for the City. The Administrator-Clerk is responsible for directing staff on the implementation of policies set by the City Council. The Administrator oversees all department heads, coordinates the day to day operations, prepares and administers the city budget, works as the planning and zoning administrator prepares the city council agenda, administers city elections, and is the key contact for economic development. 

 

The City Deputy Clerk position handles accounts receivable, Utility bills and meeting minutes.     

 

The City Treasurer position handles payroll, accounts payable, meeting minutes and financal records.

 

City Council Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:00 pm. The public is encouraged and welcome to attend.

                      


Streets/Parks

The Street and Parks department is responsible for the maintenance of all city roadways and alleys, snow removal, maintenance of city-owned equipment and facilities. This includes the Lions Park, West Park, boat landing, and city swimming beach.


 Water and Sewer

The water and sewer department is responsible for the water treatment plant operation, the sewer treatment plant operation, also the maintenance, testing, and record keeping. 


Police

The Waterville Police department consists of the Police Chief John Manning and two full-time officers, and part-time officers when needed.


 Fire Department

The Waterville Fire Department has 25 members. Currently, the Fire Chief fo the Fire Department is Chris Meskan. They have meetings on the third Monday of every month and are responsible to protect the City of Waterville and outlying areas.
